A signature is required to release information from your academic record; therefore, they are prohibited from accepting information via telephone.
There are two types of academic transcripts: official and unofficial. An official transcript is printed on transcript paper and affixed with the university seal and stamped with the Registrar's signature stamp. An unofficial transcript is printed on plain white paper with "Unofficial Transcript" written at the top. Unofficial transcripts can also be sent via e-mail, whereas the official transcripts cannot.
