Betz (Elizabeth) Lund has been teaching since 2008 at Ingham Academy, a day treatment program for court adjudicated youth that is operated by three agencies - Ingham County Circuit Court, Ingham Intermediate School District(ISD), and Highfields. As a member of the DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Strategic planning committee, Betz has led professional developments for colleagues based on the works of Dr Christopher Emdin and Dr. Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz focused on both ratchetdemic and the archeology of self and helped develop policies to make positive impacts for all staff and students. They are passionate about helping staff and students be the best versions of themselves.

Betz has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics focusing on secondary education with minors in psychology and theater from Grand Valley State University, and a Master of Arts in teaching and curriculum from Michigan State University.
