Sharon Gerdes

Sharon Gerdes has been a high school Spanish teacher for 32 years and currently serves as the department chairperson for World Languages and Cultures at Lockport Township High School. Sharon has taught all levels of Spanish and continuously seeks professional development for herself and her staff.

Sharon received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Eastern Illinois University and her graduate degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University.

Along with teaching and overseeing the language department Sharon also has been an adjunct professor for the University of St. Francis teaching online and blended courses in the ESL endorsement program for seven years.  In addition, Sharon became an instructor for the Connecting Link for several years and enjoys providing educators with meaningful professional development.  Sharon has taught both face to face courses as well as on line only courses.

Being a lifelong learner is Sharon’s motto and hopes that all of you will enjoy the flexibility of the programs and valuable tools from the various courses offered at TCL.
